Art Treks
Overnight Fort Worth Art Trek!
Spring Art Trek – Wednesday & Thursday, April 12 & 13, 2023
Fort Worth, TX
$155 per ticket
Everyone will be in charge of getting to Fort Worth. We will then have a general meeting place each morning. A lot of you have friends and family in the area and will want to stay with them. However, if you would rather stay in a hotel, I will have the names and prices for those that are close to the museums. Until I see the level of interest, I won’t know about the type of transportation to and from the hotel. If the group is small, we may Uber. Once we get to the Museum District, we will be able to walk from one museum to the other.
Wednesday morning we will start our day of fun at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth at 10:30 AM. We will have a docent-led tour and then have lunch there. At 1:00 we will have a docent-led tour of the Kimbell Art Museum and time to look around before strolling to the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame for a tour at 3:00. To continue with our cowgirl theme, we will go to the Hotel Drover in the Stockyards for a drink. Many of you will want to split off and do other things. I have dinner reservations for 10 at my favorite place, Pacific Table. This can be adjusted.
The next morning, we will meet and go to Bass Performance Hall at 10:00 for a tour. I am working on lunch reservations. Then you are free!
If you do not want to drive to Fort Worth, Vonlane Executive Bus Line is a great option. I have taken these buses several times, and I am sold on them! They pick up at the Hyatt Regency downtown Austin and drop off at the Hilton downtown Fort Worth. The fare is now $118 each way. I have never had more than 3 other people on the bus. It is quiet, they have Wifi, and they provide unlimited snacks! If interested, we might get a group together for the journey. It takes 3 hours. Give us a call if you are interested!
The ticket will include 2 lunches and admission to all of the museums. Dinners, drinks, and hotel will not be included.
Michaela and Vicki did a trip like this to Houston several years ago, so I hope we have a lot of interest and that this trip will appeal to many of you. These trips are always an adventure. However, without a bus, there may not be as many stories to tell!
